In Person Build Nights

We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month at the Albany VFW Post #584, 1469 Timber St. SE, Albany OR.

 

Meetings are between 5:00-9:30pm, attending as you can during that time.

 

Food and beverages are available for purchase.

HELLO EVERYONE… It’s Wednesday…. And here is your Mid-Valley Update for this week!

WHAT IS HAPPENING: 

Mid-Valley THIS WEEK – 

We are meeting on ZOOM.   Be sure to log in and join us.  It’s a great time to “sit around the table” and build together.  You’ll be amazed at how transparent it is!

What else???? 

We had a great time up in Renton this past weekend at the IPMS Seattle Spring Show.  It was also our regional contest.   Amazing models on the tables.  Great selection and deals from the many vendors.  And just a great time connecting with the people attending.  Many good kudos to the Seattle team for putting this on.  The contest part and the raffle were a blast.  

 

START NOW to plan for our upcoming TWO-WEEK BUILD! 

The rules are simple – choose an un-started kit, and build it over a two week period.  No theme, no pressure, any kit, and build it any way you want.  And you can be sure to have one kit you finish this year! 

  • We will start on our Zoom meeting – 6pm Thursday, May 30th

  • Plan to finish and bring it to our in person meeting at – 5pm Thursday June 13th

And even better!  Plan to bring it to display at our People’s Choice contest, at our 6/15 swap meet.  For those completing the build – you will get free entry – SAVE A BUCK

 

If you are more remote, plan to join in on-line and we will all post and follow on this FB Group.  I will be doing a call for models of what people want to build.  We’ll get a list posted and have some fun following our progress.  So plan to be part of it!  

 

I will be putting a more detailed post about this on the Group following this update.  

 

 

On My Bench.... 

Well, the F-51D got done!  And was on the table with your OR ANG display at the Renton show.  More models to come from a variety of builders.  

 

I have slightly revamped my production line.  I have added a Hasegawa F-16C Block 30 that I won at the raffle this weekend.  I plan to do it in Colorado ANG guard markings.  Using decals from a past Nationals that was held in Boulder.  Hopefully it will be going to Nats with me.  

 

I also pulled a kit from my Shelf of Doom – an AMT Chevy Chevelle SS that I have about 75% complete.  It is a curbside Chevelle that I will be finishing and decaling with an early ‘70s stock car livery – See Rock City – from the Chattanooga Nats in 2019.  Just a fun crazy thing for me to do.  

 

Otherwise, I still have the Eduard Bf 110, the Tamiya KV-1 and the Loening on the dock and moving along.  And I may still find some time on the Magach 6 and base, but it is low on the list at this point.  We’ll see.
